wanna to hear a fun fact? (or at least a fact I think is fun)
If I wasn't a copywriter, I would be a novelist.
That's a lie, but it was nice to say out loud…or write down, I guess.
But, in high school, I did write two, separate, 100,000-word books and posted them on online platforms (they got kinda popular if I do say so myself). I continue to hope every day that nobody in my life has ever or will ever read them. Except my dad, who did find them at one point and I tried to play it cool, something I am not known for, but inside I felt like I was being shaken like a soda bottle. Also, I don’t like soda.
While I don’t like soda I do like words. Love ‘em actually. Everyone always says that a picture is worth a thousand words and as much as I love visuals and design, I want to flip that around and say that a single word can create a thousand pictures. We all see the world differently and everyone has different interpretations of the world as well as everything inside it, including words (this is the Sociology major in me) . Then you string single words together and it's like magic, creating your own individualized movie as you read them.
Besides my love of words and my VERY amateur novelist career, I read a lot of romance novels and I’m addicted to Pinterest. I grew up with very loving parents in D.C. (Maryland) who had very boring jobs…which, to be fair did keep me happy and fed, so thank you for that mom and dad. Seeing my parents work reinforced in me that I wanted to do something creative when I went to college, but I also wanted to do something that would hopefully land me a job after graduation.
Couple that with my love of words and inability to shut up--copywriting seemed to be love at first sight (loving Syracuse was also a plus). Let my work read you a romantic monologue instead of me, or see what my Pinterest has to say. (although you WILL get too much information about me).
