Here's me and my significant other (words).
me and words are in a lifelong committed relationship.
When I was a kid I wanted to be a singer-songwriter who would win 'The Voice' at fifteen.
And I did write one (full) song at my after school program that I performed in my elementary school cafeteria and received a standing ovation, but that's about as far as that dream went.
By the time I was old enough to go on 'The Voice,' I wanted to be an award-winning novelist.
So, in high school, I wrote two, separate, 100,000-word books and posted them on online platforms (they got kinda popular if I do say so myself). But I got embarrassed of my writing and I continue to hope every day that nobody in my life has ever or will ever read them. Except my dad, who did find them at one point and I tried to play it cool, something I am not known for, but inside I felt like I was being shaken like a soda bottle. Also, I don’t like soda.
While I don’t like soda I do like words. Love ‘em actually, if you couldn't tell from every dream job I've had involving words.
Everyone always says that a picture is worth a thousand words and as much as design is so much fun, I want to flip that around and say that a single word can create a thousand pictures. We all see the world differently and everyone has different interpretations of the world as well as everything inside it, including words (this is the Sociology major in me) . Then you string single words together and it's like magic, creating your own individualized movie as you read them.
I can't part with my love of words and inability to shut up, so now my dream job is award-winning copywriter.
I am more than just my dream jobs, though. I also read a lot of romance novels, take a lot of naps (which is where I come up with my best ideas) and I’m addicted to Pinterest. I grew up with very loving parents in D.C. (Maryland) who always supported my dreams--I actually had a stage built in my bedroom when I was little, they were the ones who encouraged me to include the books I had written on my college application, and now they are always open to hearing me yap about my new ad ideas that I'm super excited about.
If you wanna hear a romantic monologue about copywriting like the ones I give my parents, check out my ads and feel my love for words pour through the screen. Or, if my bio didn't give you enough information about me, check out my Pinterest. But, I'm warning you, you WILL leave with too much information.
